How to Remote Desktop on Unix/Linux?

 

Just in case your Linux version does not come with Remote Desktop or you like to compile your own…

Here is the way to do it!
1. Download a latest stable source code from
                http://www.rdesktop.org/

2. Extract it…

[root@gemini temp]# tar xvf rdesktop-1.6.0.tar

3. Run configure and make…

[root@gemini rdesktop-1.6.0]# ./configure --prefix /usr/local
[root@gemini rdesktop-1.6.0]# make install

4. I like automated stuff, so I created a little shell script to run all the parameters…

#!/bin/sh
rdesktop -u <username> -p <password> -g <resolution> -b -a <color quality> -T <title> -k <keymap> <Hostname> &
